What age children are eligible to attend Just A to Z Academy? Just A to Z Academy accepts children ages 6 weeks of age and up.

How many students currently attend Just A to Z Academy? Just A to Z Academy currently has just over 40 students. Our preschool holds up to 50 students. 

Does Just A to Z Academy offer part-time care options? Yes. Just A to Z offers part-time care (2 and 3 day-a-week programs) for children age 3 and under. Regardless of the number of days a week a student attends school, Just A to Z Academy encourages students to be in school between 8: 30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.; this will allow students to participate fully in our curriculum.

What is the student to teacher ratio at Just A to Z Academy? The student to teacher ratio varies from classroom to classroom - depending on the ages of the children in the classroom. In our infant classroom, the student to teacher ratio is 4 to 1. In our 1-year-olds classroom, the student to teacher ratio is 5 to 1. In our 2-year-olds classroom, the student to teacher ratio is 6 to 1. And in our pre-school classroom, the student to teacher ratio is 10 to 1.

Do Just A to Z Academy's teachers have any special credentials? Just A to Z Academy's teachers are the key to our success in providing the highest quality pre-school experience. Our teachers were selected because of their exceptional teaching skills and their ability to provide a warm, caring and stimulating environment in which children can learn. Many of our teachers have degrees in education or other related areas of study. In addition, all of Just A to Z Academy's teachers are certified in CPR and first aid.

Can you tell me a little bit more about the teaching staff?
Just A to Z Academy employs a qualified and highly dedicated staff. All staff are certified in first aid and infant/child CPR by the State of Tennessee Department of Human Resources. All staff also undergo thorough reference and criminal background checks, and are required to undergo a 90-day probationary period.

Just A to Z Academy also encourages and supports the continued education of its staff through the organization of regular workshops and special training sessions, and by offering flexible work schedules that enable teachers to pursue degrees and certifications at area universities.


Is Just A to Z Academy an accredited childcare facility? We are a licensed childcare facility with three stars from the Sate of Tennessee. Just A to Z Academy is actively pursuing accreditation. WE ARE A THREE STAR RATED PRESCHOOL.

What are Just A to Z Academy's hours of operation? Just A to Z Academy is open from 6:45 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Does Just A to Z Academy operate during the summer? Yes. Just A to Z is open year round. We operate on a school year basis  from August to May and offer a summer curriculum.

On which holidays is Just A to Z Academy closed? New Year's holiday, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. In addition, we are closed two additional days each year for teacher training. Holidays that fall on a weekend will be observed on the weekday closest to that day. Specific dates for all scheduled closings will be provided in writing in advance.

Does Just A to Z Academy offer sibling or pay-in-advance discounts? Yes. Just A to Z Academy offers a sibling discount of $10/week per child. Full-time students are eligible for a 3 percent discount if their tuition is paid by the 3rd of each month.

Does Just A to Z Academy provide snacks and/or meals, or are meals provided by parents? Just A to Z Academy offers nutritious meals each day which includes Breakfast Lunch and an afternoon snack.

Is Just A to Z Academy able to work with special diets and/or food allergies? Yes. Nutritious meals are prepared to meet each child's individual needs.

Does Just A to Z Academy offer any special programs? Yes. Just A to Z Academy offers music, computer and Spanish classes. We also offer a special literacy program through Bringing Books to Life.

Does Just A to Z Academy encourage parental involvement? Yes. We have an active Parent Teacher Organization. We also invite parents to participate in classroom activities as their schedules allow.

Can Just A to Z Academy provide references from the parents of current or past students? Yes. Just A to Z Academy has a number of parents who are willing and happy to share their experiences at Just A to Z Academy with those considering enrolling their child/children at the school. What steps do I need to take to schedule a tour of Just A to Z Academy? Just A to Z Academy welcomes visitors by appointment or on a drop-in basis.
